Purpose of the service
HIG Legacy Vault is an organizational tool for recording life-insurance information, storing selected documents, preparing family instructions, and sharing limited information with authorized beneficiaries.
Not an insurance policy or professional advice
Vault records are not an insurance contract, beneficiary designation, proof of coverage, claim decision, legal instrument, or guarantee of payment. Information in the service is not legal, tax, financial, or insurance advice. The insurance carrier’s records and policy documents control. Confirm important information directly with the carrier and qualified professionals.
Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current;
- upload only information you have the right to store and share;
- obtain appropriate permission before entering another person’s information;
- protect your credentials and use multi-factor authentication where available;
- review beneficiary access and revoke it when no longer appropriate; and
- use the service only for lawful purposes.
Beneficiary access
Policyholders control invitations and authorization. Portal access is limited, revocable, and informational. Accepting an invitation does not establish beneficiary status or entitlement to policy proceeds.
Subscriptions and billing
Features identified as paid require an active subscription. Prices and billing terms are shown before checkout. Stripe processes payments. You may manage or cancel a subscription through the billing portal. Deleting an account ends access and initiates cancellation of the associated subscription, but does not create refunds except where required by law or stated at purchase.
Acceptable use
You may not probe or bypass security, access another person’s vault without authorization, upload malicious material, automate abusive requests, interfere with the service, or use it to violate another person’s rights.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available and accurate, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed. Features may change as we improve security, reliability, or legal compliance. Keep independent copies of documents you cannot afford to lose.
Account suspension and termination
We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, address nonpayment, or stop misuse. You may stop using the service and permanently delete your account from Settings.
Disclaimers and limitation
To the extent allowed by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” HIG Legacy Vault is not responsible for carrier decisions, inaccurate user-entered information, missed deadlines, or actions taken in reliance on vault records instead of official policy documents. Applicable law may provide rights that cannot be limited by these terms.
Privacy and deletion
Our Privacy Policy and Data Retention Policy explain how information is handled and deleted.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. Continued use after an updated effective date means you accept the revised terms, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
